Name Place Animal Thing (NPAT)

  • The game requires a Host (who starts the game room) and players (who are invited by host)
  • This game can be played solo or with a group of upto 10 players. If you are playing solo, you are the host and the player

Game Play - For Host

  • If you are host of the game, Enter your player name & pick the number of rounds. Click on Start Game.
  • Under the Game Control section, You have a button to share the game room link with other players on whatsapp.
  • On the header section, you can see the names of players who have joined your game.
  • Once all the required players are in, you can start a round by clicking start round in the Game Play Section. If a player joins after round starts, they will be excluded for current round and be included in the next round (if any)
  • Every Round runs for 45 seconds, after which the score for that round gets generated & score card appears in the header section
  • You can keep in touch with your fellow players realtime using the chat room availble at the end of screen. You can also run a hangout voice call in the background for enhanced fun :)

Game Play - For Players

  • Once you are in the game room, On the header section, you can see the names of players who have joined your game.
  • When the host starts a round, the game play displays the letter for the round and text boxes to enter your answers.
  • Submit the answers as soon as you are done or they get submitted automatically at the end of 30seconds.
  • Every Round runs for 30 seconds, after which the score for that round gets generated & score card appears on top.The score card is cumualtive after every round.
  • You can keep in touch with your fellow players using the chat room at the end of screen.

Scoring Rules

  • An entry is considered valid if it is a word of atleast 3 letters
  • Answers with only one word are allowed & no plurals
  • Every entry is validated against wikipedia. If it is found valid & no one else has repeated, you get 10 points for it, else in case of repetation 5, if invalid 0.
  • Also, the game is for fun and not contextual strict. Animal name might be scored full points even if it is not a animal but a thing or place :) Play it for fun and play truthful for yourself.
  • If you get all four NPAT with 10 points i.e. 40, you then qualify for time bonus. Number of seconds remaining out of total time for that round is added to your score.
